Job summary

U.S. Facilities, Inc. in Philadelphia is seeking two Stationary Engineers to perform preventive, corrective and general maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers and chillers, with shifts 8:00am–4:00pm or 4:00pm–12:00am. The role requires working with building automation systems and fire alarm controls under minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma, a current Class A Engineer’s license, and a CFC Universal Certificate, plus 3 years of relevant experience. EOE.

Qualifications

  • High school or GED required.
  • Current Class A Engineer’s license.
  • CFC Universal Certificate.
  • 3 years’ experience with heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • 3 years’ experience with fire alarm panel controls.
  • 3 years’ experience with BAS controls and programming.
  • 2 years of boiler and chiller room operations.
  • Must have knowledge of High-Pressure Steam Operations and Heat Transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective and general maintenance and repairs.
  • Respond to emergency situations or system breakdowns.
  • Monitor, tune and troubleshoot utilities distributed by HVAC equipment.
  • Supervise work direction or instruction of other employees as needed.

Job description

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated building maintenance services company, is currently accepting resumes for the position of Stationary Engineer in Philadelphia.

We are currently in need of two Stationary Engineers to work various days 8:00am – 4:00pm or 4:00pm – 12:00am.

The Stationary Engineer with minimal supervision performs preventive, corrective and general maintenance and repairs. The Stationary Engineer will also take immediate action to resolve emergency situations or system breakdowns as well as routine and preventive maintenance.

The Stationary Engineer 1st Class is a skilled, responsible position in the Engineering Department. The job requires a thorough understanding of Steam Boiler, Chiller and HVAC plant equipment design and operating principles to safely, reliably and efficiently produce and distribute the utilities of steam and chilled water. This position also monitors, tunes and troubleshoots the consumption of these utilities distributed HVAC equipment, such that the various facility spaces are properly conditioned. Accuracy is essential. Occasionally supervises work direction or instruction of other employees.

May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.

Qualifications
  • High school/GED graduate
  • Current Class A Engineer’s license
  • CFC Universal Certificate
  • 3 years’ experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • 3 years’ experience with fire alarm system panel controls.
  • 3 years’ experience working with building automation system (BAS) controls and programming.
  • 2 years of boiler and chiller room operations.
  • Must have knowledge of High-Pressure Steam Operations and Heat Transfer.
