An engineering services company seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform general preventive maintenance and manage repairs for buildings and systems. The role requires at least 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance and offers a full-time position with attractive benefits in a supportive work environment.
Job Summary:
Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, commercial systems, equipment, and grounds. Working under close supervision, assists in monitoring building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
- Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
- Reviews assigned work orders and estimates time and materials needed.
- Orders necessary materials and supplies.
- Assists with installation, modification, troubleshooting, and repairs of building systems including plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and electrical.
- Inspects new installations for compliance with codes and safety regulations.
- Maintains lighting systems, grounds, furniture, and locksmith tasks.
- Responds quickly to emergency situations.
- Performs routine inspections of property, troubleshooting controls, repairing equipment, patching walls, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Documents work activities and assists with setting timers and other operational tasks.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 4 years of facilities operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of machines, tools, construction materials, safety policies, and basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- EPA 608 Universal certification preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
