Job summary

Jobtailor in Seattle seeks a Safety Coordinator to promote a comprehensive Safety and Health Program, prevent injuries, and minimize losses in warehouse operations.

You will lead safety audits, monitor incidents, review statistics, and engage hourly personnel in a safety culture, including accident investigation and reporting. Strong English fluency and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
• Reads/writes/speaks English fluently.
• Must be 18+ if position requires driving cargo handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety and Health Program to prevent injuries and losses.
• Distribute read and signs, bulletins and posters and discuss procedures with staff.
• Perform safety audits on warehouse and ramp operations and report feedback to management.
• Attend safety committee meetings and provide feedback to management.
• Review audits/incidents/injuries and statistics to drive safety improvements.

Job description

• Promote Safety and Health Program - to prevent injuries and illnesses from work related causes, and to minimize losses of material resources and interruptions from accidental occurrences.
• Safety & Health Awareness: Distribute read and signs, bulletins and posters for location and discuss new procedures with station personnel.
• Accident Prevention: Perform safety audits on warehouse and ramp operations and provide feedback to management.
• Safety Monitoring: Attend safety committee meetings and provide feedback to management.
• Review station audits, review station incidents/accidents/injuries, review station statistics to determine areas of improvement, stimulate hourly personnel involvement in the safety culture, and distribute safety awards as established in company guidelines, accident/Incident Reporting, Investigation, & Analysis, assist with all incident/accident/injury reports.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
• Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
• Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
• Must be at least 18 years of age if position requires driving cargo handling equipment.
