Job summary

AEP Beckley is seeking a Station Electrician C to support the construction, maintenance and testing of energized and de-energized generation facilities. You will respond to emergencies and help restore service with supervision levels specified. You must live within 45 minutes of Beckley Service Center and obtain CDL as required for progression.

The role requires ability to work overtime, travel >50%, and pass safety trainings. Competitive hourly pay is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or equivalent education.
• Ability to read prints and one-line diagrams.
• Must be available for overtime, call-out overtime and shift work; travel >50%.

Responsibilities

• Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts.
• Assist with voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation megger and related test equipment.
• Assist in installing conduit, pipe, cable and wire; dig trenches; install substation equipment and protective devices.
• Perform visual inspections and readings from gauges; assist in testing emergency generators and pumps.
• Maintain records and submit reports; participate in training and safety practices.
