Job summary

WRTP | BIG STEP is seeking an Expansion Director to lead outreach, workforce development, and training initiatives across Wisconsin, including new and existing WRTP | BIG STEP locations. You will supervise staff, coordinate programs, and cultivate partnerships with employers, labor, education, and government.

The role reports to the Chief Operations Officer and focuses on achieving contractual outcomes, improving service delivery, and expanding the statewide presence of WRTP | BIG STEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred; advanced education or certifications may be considered.
• Proven experience with Registered Apprenticeship programs or workforce development systems.
• Experience coordinating complex programs and building partnerships across industry, labor, education, and government.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple projects.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to outreach and programming teams and align with WRTP | BIG STEP mission.
• Ensure activities meet contractual requirements and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain statewide workforce programming and apprenticeship partnerships.
• Monitor performance, outcomes, and reporting to meet grant goals.
• Collaborate with employers, labor, and education partners to expand services across Wisconsin.
