Job summary

South Carolina Department of Public Safety is seeking an Advanced Team Sergeant to coordinate and execute law enforcement training statewide. The role includes supervising instructors, mentoring staff, and delivering in-service curriculum across basic, in-service, and advanced programs.

The position requires SC Class I LEO certification, Basic Instructor Development, and the ability to obtain Firearms, Driving, and Defensive Tactics instructor certifications within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold SC Class I Law Enforcement Officer certification.
• Must be certified in Basic Instructor Development.
• Must obtain Instructor Certification in Firearms, Driving, and Defensive Tactics within one year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, and execute training at basic, in-service, and advanced levels.
• Develop and deliver in-service curriculum and supervise training administration.
• Supervise officers, provide coaching and performance reviews.
• Instruct classes for Basic, In-Service, and advanced trainings; maintain instructor certifications.
• Research, create, and update lesson plans and training programs.
