Job summary

The Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking a Storm Mitigation Program Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of strategies that reduce vulnerability to severe weather. The role reports to the Director of Legislative Affairs and oversees statewide mitigation initiatives and budgets.

Excellence in grants management and experience coordinating with government, insurance, construction, and academic partners is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college.
• Grants Management Experience is preferred.
• Ten years of professional-level experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, and execution of mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerability to severe weather.
• Provide executive-level direction for statewide mitigation and resilience initiatives.
• Develop program budgets, funding strategies, and expenditure plans.
• Establish processes for eligibility, review, award administration, monitoring, and closeout.
• Coordinate partnerships among government, insurance, construction, financial, academic, nonprofit, and community organizations.
