Job summary

Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) is seeking a Community Partnerships Manager to plan, develop, implement, and manage statewide program activities coordinating assistance for disaster survivors through a network of community, faith-based, voluntary organization, private sector partners and local governments.

The role serves as the State liaison for disasters with federal agencies, supports capacity building of local communities to manage donation warehouses,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of professional level experience in building partnerships, advocacy, disaster recovery, non-profit, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify and inventory faith-based, voluntary, private sector and local government organizations, capacities and resources.
• Facilitate a statewide network of partnerships to support disaster planning, preparedness, response and recovery activities.
• Recruit organizations to accept critical roles in State preparedness, response and recovery efforts.
• Identify gaps in public sector emergency management capabilities for addressed through partner organizations.
• Assist with development and preparation of plans, procedures, and operating guides with emphasis on partnership planning.
• Plan and conduct meetings, trainings, orientations and events that facilitate planning and preparedness.
• Complete special projects as requested.
• Travel required.
