Job summary

The Division Director, Retail Stores for the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) leads statewide retail liquor store operations, ensuring customer service, responsible alcohol sales, and strong staff performance across the retail network.

The role requires coordinating with purchasing, merchandising, distribution, and technology teams, aligning with policy and efficiency goals. In-state travel is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multi-site retail operations.
• Available for in-state travel.
• 21 years of age or older; pass a background check.
• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with government-operated retail or large multi-site retail operations.
• Experience with inventory controls, POS, distribution, and retail technology projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead regional and retail store managers across the state.
• Ensure consistent execution of standards, training, inventory and financial controls.
• Monitor store performance, customer service metrics, inventory accuracy, and compliance.
• Oversee workforce planning, staffing, scheduling, and training.
• Coordinate with purchasing, merchandising, distribution, and technology teams.
• Recommend changes to policies, procedures, systems, and store operations.
• Provide leadership updates on performance and risks.
