Job summary

Pheasants Forever, in partnership with the Arkansas Prescribed Burn Association (APBA) and other partners, seeks a statewide PBA Coordinator to support prescribed burn efforts in Arkansas. You will work daily with APBA and landowners to coordinate training, reporting, and equipment distribution while serving as a primary liaison with PBAs.

Responsibilities include delivering training, coordinating burn reporting, organizing start-up meetings, and promoting a landowners helping landowners model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in forestry, wildlife management, plant ecology, fire ecology, or a closely related natural resources field with at least three years of related experience.
• Prescribed fire training and certifications required; field experience outlined above.
• Knowledge of Forestry and Working Lands operations desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed fire training to local PBAs.
• Coordinate burn acreage reporting from PBAs to APBA.
• Track and distribute prescribed fire equipment to PBAs.
• Serve as the primary contact for local PBA officers, members, and potential new members.
• Communicate and report to the APBA Board of Directors.
• Participate in prescribed burns with local PBAs.
• Organize and host new PBA start-up meetings as needed.
• Assist PBAs and APBA with planning and related duties as directed.
