Job summary

The State of Wyoming is seeking a leader to oversee all statewide land survey operations and right-of-way engineering initiatives across the state. You will direct consultants and district land surveyors, set scopes of work, and ensure compliance with laws and policies while guiding essential transportation projects.

The role includes supervising staff, providing professional certifications, and managing contract deliverables and data across Wyoming’s statewide programs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of applied mathematics (coordinate geometry & trig) and computer technology
  • Ability to lead and manage with diversity
  • Ability to communicate effectively in technical and general terms
  • Ability to interpret land descriptions and isolate conflicts
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues involving the description and transfer of real property
  • Experience with land surveying standards and scopes of work

Responsibilities

  • Manages all land survey projects on a statewide basis
  • Administers land surveying agreements on a statewide basis and serves as the project manager and primary contact on said agreements
  • Directs consulting professionals and district land surveyors regarding scopes of work, standards, specifications, and completion schedules
  • Provides contract fee analysis and approvals
  • Oversees the processing, compilation, archiving, and distribution of all land survey data
  • Attends survey meetings and determine project specific land survey scopes and schedules
