Qualifications

• Five years of experience in information technology or administrative services.
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of information technology or administrative services.
• An associate's degree in information technology plus three years of information technology or administrative services.
• A bachelor’s degree plus three years of information technology or administrative services.
• A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus two years of information technology or administrative services.
• A master’s degree plus two years of information technology or administrative services.
• EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
• NOTE: A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Responsibilities

• Lead information security risk management services by conducting technical analysis, evaluation, mitigation, and solution design recommendations.
• Provide guidance and direction for information security activities including access controls, endpoint configuration, network monitoring, vulnerability management, system event monitoring, and user training.
• Lead technical design, implementation, documentation, and validation of security solutions protecting resources, networks, systems, and data elements.
• Lead periodic reviews to ensure integrity, confidentiality, and availability of State information and services.
• Handle highly complex escalations from lower-level Statewide InfoSec personnel.
• Lead Information Security Team engineers for readiness and remediation efforts for audits.
• Prepare action plans to address audit findings and coordinate resources.
• Produce clear reports and updates to management as needed.
• Attend classes and conferences to maintain information security knowledge and stay updated on best practices.
• Research technologies and approaches to enhance information security services.
• Perform other tasks and projects as directed by OTS Leadership.
