New Mexico Legal Aid, headquartered in Albuquerque, seeks a Statewide Pro Bono Coordinator for its Volunteer Attorney Program. The role focuses on organizing clinics, recruiting volunteers, and coordinating with district committees to expand access to civil legal services for low-income New Mexicans.

The ideal candidate holds a JD and is willing to travel; strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• JD licensed in New Mexico or eligible for reciprocity.
• Willingness to travel up to 15–20% including evenings/weekends.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with diverse partners.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize, travel to, and recruit volunteer attorneys and non-attorneys for clinics and pro bono activities throughout the state.
• Coordinate with pro bono committees in each judicial district to plan statewide clinics.
• Assist in recruiting pro bono attorneys for NM's 13 Judicial Districts.
• Create training materials and CLE courses for pro bono volunteers.
• Support daily operations of the Volunteer Attorney Program.
• Network with private attorneys and civil legal services providers.
• Market legal clinics and training programs.
• Monitor the quality of services provided by pro bono attorneys.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
