Job summary

ABH is seeking a Housing Specialist in Middletown, CT to support the DMHAS Housing Assistance Fund. You will represent ABH in a professional manner while promoting quality behavioral health services and ensuring compliance with guidelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel statewide. You will work with diverse teams to implement housing programs and maintain HIPAA-compliant records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years’ experience.
• Experience with community engagement and facilitating partnerships across disciplines.
• Ability to work with groups, deliver presentations, write briefs, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to business support services.
• Answer information/referral calls and manage coverage as directed.
• Develop understanding of DMHAS HAF eligibility criteria and related programs.
• Perform eligibility verification checks for DMHAS criteria.
• Collect and review documentation for DMHAS HAF applications.
• Routinely travel statewide to assess housing arrangements for safety and habitability.
• Collaborate with supervisor and staff to meet funder expectations.
• Support state-level committees to update goals and processes.
• Promote equitable distribution of HAF services across regional networks.
• Meet all contract performance standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of client health information per HIPAA policies.
• Perform other tasks to support operations.
