Job summary

State of Delaware's Department of Health and Social Services seeks a Health Program Coordinator to support the Bureau of Oral Health and Dental Services across schools and communities statewide.

The role involves coordinating events, managing supplies and records, transporting staff, tracking inventory and data entry, with statewide travel and occasional evening/weekend work required. State employment features opportunities to impact public health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Six months experience in monitoring program activities and recommending changes.
  • Six months experience in screening/detecting communicable or health hazards.
  • Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, and procedures.
  • Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  • Knowledge of etiology of communicable or chronic diseases/health hazards.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee statewide disease or health hazard control program.
  • Develop procedures and monitor activities for compliance.
  • Coordinate with other programs to ensure total compliance.
  • Interact with federal, state and local officials.
  • Prepare annual budget request.
  • Procure equipment, supplies and/or services as needed.
  • Monitor data to target screening areas.
  • Maintain records and reports as required.
  • Perform testing and review results for quality control.
  • Plan, supervise and evaluate staff in sampling and inspection.
  • Train staff in program techniques.
  • Plan and deliver educational programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to physicians, hospitals and agencies.
