Job summary

The State of Washington's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) seeks a strategic financial leader to shape statewide fiscal policies and safeguard the agency's financial integrity.

In the Finance, Technology and Analytics Administration (FTAA) you will oversee accounting operations, audits, grant compliance, and staff management, delivering critical financial stewardship and federal funding coordination.

Qualifications

• Ten years of professional accounting or auditing experience, preferably in government.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB and federal/state grant requirements.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• CPA license is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis, consultation, and coordination across agency programs.
• Oversee general ledger reconciliations, audits, and federal grant draws.
• Lead staff development, training, and cross-agency financial coordination.
• Represent the agency on statewide committees and groups.
