Job summary

Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) seeks a Community Partnerships Manager to coordinate statewide partnerships among faith-based, voluntary, private sector and local governments for disaster recovery and preparedness.

Under broad supervision, you will support and advocate capacity building, establish recovery groups, and serve as state liaison with federal and state agencies. Travel across Georgia is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field and two years of professional level partnership experience.
• Master’s degree preferred with knowledge of emergency management programs and VOAD doctrine.
• Excellent writing and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and inventory faith-based, voluntary, private sector and local government organizations.
• Facilitate a statewide network of partnerships to support planning, preparedness, response and recovery.
• Recruit organizations to support state preparedness, response and recovery efforts.
• Identify gaps in public sector emergencies that can be addressed by partner organizations.
• Develop plans, procedures and operating guides with emphasis on faith-based and non-profit coordination.
• Plan, conduct meetings, trainings and events to facilitate planning and preparedness.
• Travel statewide for training, planning and coordination activities; may be required during emergencies.
