Job summary

AARP, Inc. is seeking an Associate State Director, Community Engagement to lead state and local partnerships and drive community programs aligned with our strategic goals.

You will design targeted engagement opportunities, work across geographies, and leverage internal/external resources to raise visibility. Responsibilities include advising cross-functional teams, expanding volunteer capacity, and developing training to support advocacy, member engagement, and outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years in community engagement or related work.
• Experience in campaign tactics to promote social mission issues.
• Ability to recruit, train, engage and manage volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Advise cross-functional teams on state and community strategy initiatives.
• Evaluate strategy implementation to meet local goals nationwide.
• Establish organization presence in targeted communities through partnerships.
• Recruit, train and deploy volunteers aligned with organizational priorities.
• Ensure inclusion of volunteer perspectives in strategic planning.
