Job summary

The Alaska Court System is seeking a Behavioral Health Administrator to strengthen responses to justice‑involved individuals with behavioral and mental health needs. This grant-funded, 7.5‑month role focuses on system‑wide collaboration, program development, and policy implementation across Alaska.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral or mental health programs or services.
• Experience with Alaska Court System, legal settings, or project management strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of behavioral and mental health systems, including substance misuse, co‑occurring disorders, and evidence‑based practices.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize data to develop policy and procedure recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze ACS proposals, programs, policies, rules, and practices; recommend, develop, and implement improvements.
• Build and strengthen relationships across Alaska’s behavioral health and justice systems with multiple partners.
• Provide leadership to taskforces, committees, and workgroups; support behavioral health programs and legislation.
• Research national best practices; assist with implementation of behavioral health-related legislation and therapeutic courts.
• Develop and deliver training for judicial officers and court staff; manage grants and program data.
