Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced public policy professional to support the company's state public policy and government relations efforts in the Northwest US. The role reports to the Public Policy Director, West/Midwest United States and is based in Seattle, Denver, or remote in Washington or Colorado area.

Frequent travel is required. You will lead advocacy campaigns, build coalitions with policymakers and stakeholders, and apply AI tools to optimize workflows while upholding ethical practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, business/strategy, economics, legal, communications, Public Relations, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or government affairs
  • Understanding of state political process, policymakers, and stakeholders in region
  • Experience creating and implementing advocacy campaigns for state government with milestones
  • Creative problem-solving, negotiation, and prioritization in time-sensitive settings
  • Experience communicating nuanced concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated AI tool integration and staying current with AI technologies
  • Proven track record of building relationships with policymakers, advocacy groups, and community leaders
  • Experience managing contract lobbyists and trade associations
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build coalitions for policy goals
  • Experience on complex policy issues (tech, privacy, economic development)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking
  • Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive impact
  • Familiarity with Meta's products and policy priorities
  • Experience implementing responsible AI practices (risk assessment, bias mitigation)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with wide-ranging stakeholders
  • Understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes
