Job summary

The candidate must be a Juris Doctor with active California bar status and at least 5 years of relevant experience, including handling complex disputes and regulatory matters within consumer credit laws.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor required and active California bar membership preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of attorney experience in comparable work.
• Experience leading and monitoring workload of multiple attorneys.
• Familiarity with consumer debt laws and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Litigates on behalf of the Company in state courts where licensed.
• Represents the Company in courts, collects facts, prepares pleadings and manages discovery.
• Defends against claims and minimizes risk from counterclaims.
• Trains and mentors new state attorneys and oversees team performance.
• Monitors state legislation and communicates potential impacts to management.
• Develops and maintains attorney workflows and templates across states.
