Job summary

EisnerAmper seeks a Partner for its State & Local Tax team in New York to lead multistate consulting and compliance for partnerships and corporations, focusing on complex issues like allocation, nexus, unitary filings, and pass-through taxation.

You will also participate in thought leadership, technology initiatives, and mentoring staff, while developing new business opportunities and serving long-standing clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
• CPA, EA, or JD.
• 15+ years of experience in state taxation.
• 7+ years of supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Multistate consulting and compliance services, including: Technical review of partnership and corporate state and local tax returns, with attention to multistate tax issues such as allocation, apportionment, modifications, nexus, unitary filings, and flow-through taxation.
• Residency issues; State tax consulting, including nexus and taxability studies; Audit defense.
• Research and writing; Due diligence; Coordinating with in-house tax professionals and clients.
• Reviewing and consulting on pass-through entity issues including estimated payment, withholding and composite tax calculations and investor packages including state K-1s and grids.
• Researching and analyzing state tax legislation and its impact to clients; assisting with tax planning, restructuring, and accounting for income taxes.
