Whitley Penn is seeking a State & Local Tax Manager to join our team in a fully in-office role. You will manage the efficient preparation and delivery of state and local tax consulting and compliance for multiple clients across states, while mentoring associates and coordinating staffing on engagements.
The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of S&L tax experience, an active CPA license, and strong client relationship skills to help grow the firm’s tax practice in Texas and beyond.

The State & Local Tax Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all client assignments. The Tax Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of client deliverables, managing multiple projects, simultaneously, developing and training associates, and making associations to develop new business for the firm. State and local income/franchise tax experience, advanced technical skills, and CPA certification are required for this position.
