Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in San Francisco seeks a State and Local Tax Associate to handle complex corporate income, franchise, and multi-state tax matters.

You will collaborate with partners across offices on tax planning, transaction analysis, and audit defense, while sharpening research and writing skills.

The position requires 3–5 years of S/L tax experience, a JD from an accredited school, and California bar admission.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of dedicated State and Local Tax experience.
• Experience with corporate income, franchise, sales, and use tax.
• Exposure to controversy or litigation is a plus.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across offices and disciplines.
• JD from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Support clients on corporate income and franchise tax matters.
• Advise on sales, use, property, and payroll tax issues.
• Assist with personal income tax and audit defense.
• Engage in tax planning, structuring, and transactional analysis.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on multi-state projects.
