Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization for a fast track to Partnership. This role offers a hybrid work environment and relocation assistance.

The candidate will lead governmental audits, oversee engagement teams, and maintain client relationships. Responsibilities include signing attest opinions, guiding engagements, staff training, business development, and ensuring firm policies and GAAS/GAGAS compliance.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting and a minimum of 2 years in a senior manager position, with significant experience in the public sector, including auditing state and local governments (i.e., cities, counties, special districts, charter Schools etc.)
• Holds a current and valid CPA license.
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Significant experience conducting audits in accordance with GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS and the Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year and builds strong client relationships.
• Leads or reports to engagement partner on governmental audits and ensures deliverables comply with accounting frameworks and firm policy.
• Oversees all phases of engagements and apprises the Partner of important developments.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled and staff are trained; reviews work papers and reports.
• Supports staff performance evaluations and participates in recruitment and business development.
