Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization. This hybrid role in the San Francisco area offers relocation assistance and a fast track to partnership.

The position leads government audits, signs attestations, and maintains strong client relationships while driving business development. Requires CPA, ~10 years public accounting and extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of experience in public accounting
• Minimum 2 years in a senior manager role
• Significant experience auditing state & local governments
• GAAS, Yellow Book (GAGAS) experience
• Ability to travel to client and firm locations
• CPA licensed and in good standing

Responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing client relationships and deep knowledge of client operations
• Serve as or report to engagement partner on engagements
• Sign attest opinions as a firm representative when assigned
• Oversee engagement readiness and ensure compliance with accounting frameworks
• Identify issues and propose solutions with partner guidance
• Lead in planning and scheduling engagements and staffing
• Act as SME in government sector for engagements
• Oversee billing/collections and firm policies compliance
• Mentor and evaluate staff; participate in recruiting
• Develop new business and attend client meetings to generate fees
