Job Overview:

The State Licensing Specialist ensures compliance with all U.S. state licensing requirements for pharmaceutical operations. This role manages licensing processes for manufacturing, distribution, and third-party logistics, supporting end-to-end regulatory needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle applications, renewals, and maintenance of state licenses and permits.
  • Liaise with state regulatory bodies (e.g., Boards of Pharmacy, Health Depts).
  • Maintain a centralized database of licenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor renewal timelines and manage proactive submissions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Legal, QA, Supply Chain) to gather documentation.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and flag business impacts.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs related to licensing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Regulatory Affairs, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • at least 2+ years’ experience in regulatory licensing in pharma.
  • Strong understanding of Boards of Pharmacy and state licensing requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Clear communicator with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with licensing databases a plus.

Preferred:

  • Experience with VAWD, NABP, or other licensure platforms.
  • Knowledge of DEA/FDA regulations.
  • Track record of managing licenses across multiple states.
