Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Commerce is seeking a Finance and Business Compliance Analyst II (NS) to perform audits across a wide range of employers and tax types, in both field and office settings.

You will review financial records, interview employers and third parties, and determine compliance with Employment Security Laws. Subpoena authority may be exercised to secure needed documents.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Employment Security law and Internal Revenue Code as applicable to entities.
• Ability to interpret complex laws and apply regulations to audit financial records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting/auditing software.

Responsibilities

• Audit financial records of employers to determine compliance with Employment Security Laws.
• Independently conduct interviews with employers, employees, attorneys, and third parties.
• Request subpoenas when necessary to obtain relevant records.
