Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3–5+ years in insurance regulatory filings or related operations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. insurance regulations and multi-state filing requirements.
  • Experience with SERFF and iFile platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize state filings processes and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit filings (rates, rules, forms, endorsements) to state departments.
  • Manage filings through SERFF, FilingRamp, and other systems.
  • Maintain form libraries and version-controlled filing records.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented State Filings Analyst to support the preparation, submission, and management of insurance product filings with U.S. state insurance departments for all commercial lines of business. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting product initiatives, and maintaining accurate filing records across jurisdictions. This is an individual contributor role.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process Development & Standardization: Serve as a key contributor to the development and maturation of an in-house state filings team by designing, implementing, and maintaining standardized state filings processes, documentation, and continuous process improvement initiatives across the filings function.
  • Filing Preparation & Submission: Prepare and submit insurance filings (rates, rules, forms, endorsements, and supporting documentation) to state insurance departments.
  • Filing Systems Management: Manage filings through SERFF, FilingRamp, and other state-specific regulatory systems.
  • Form Numbering & Library Management: Assist with the development, maintenance, and governance of company form numbering standards and conventions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date form libraries, ensuring forms, endorsements, and related documents are properly cataloged, version controlled, and aligned with approved filing records.
  • Regulatory Interpretation: Interpret state regulations, bulletins, and filing instructions to determine filing requirements and exemptions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with state filings specialists, actuarial, underwriting, legal, compliance, and product teams to collect required filing materials.
  • Status Tracking: Track filing status, objections, approvals, and effective dates using internal systems and trackers.
  • Objection Response: Draft and submit responses to regulator objections and inquiries in collaboration with subject matter experts and state filings specialists.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain organized and audit-ready filing records, form inventories, and correspondence.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in insurance regulatory filings, compliance, or related insurance operations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of U.S. insurance regulations and multi-state filing requirements.
  • Systems: Experience using SERFF and iFile platforms.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with SharePoint or tracking tools a plus.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary

The base pay range is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
