The Manager, Statistical Reporting & Insurance Analytics leads a team delivering state filings, regulatory submissions, and analytics initiatives, partnering with Pricing, Reserving, and Technology to ensure data quality and compliance.

Position Summary MSIG USA is a fast-growing specialty insurer focused on serving large, complex commercial clients with customized underwriting, claims, and risk management solutions. The Manager, Statistical Reporting & Insurance Analytics is responsible for leading a team of data and statistical reporting professionals in the delivery of actuarial, regulatory, operational, and business analytics. This role oversees the successful production of statistical reporting submissions required by state regulators, rating bureaus, and industry organizations while also supporting actuarial reserving, pricing, underwriting, claims, and financial analytics initiatives. As a key leader within the Actuarial organization, this position partners closely with Reserving, Pricing, Insurance Analytics, Catastrophe Modeling, Technology, Data Operations, and external vendors to ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and analytical innovation. The role also serves as the Actuarial department's primary subject matter expert (SME) for statistical reporting requirements related to policy and claims administration systems, including Guidewire, Solartis, and internally developed platforms.
Lead the successful delivery of approximately 250 recurring statistical reports submitted to state regulatory agencies, rating bureaus, and other external entities.
Oversee both business-as-usual reporting and the migration of reporting requirements to newly implemented policy and claims administration platforms.
Manage relationships with external compliance reporting vendors, including Perr & Knight, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory adherence.
Serve as the primary liaison between compliance vendors, business stakeholders, and technology teams for updates related to state taxes, fees, licenses, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure the quality and compliance of reporting submissions, including: ISO Verisk Commercial Lines Reporting (CSP, SCP+, Financial Calls) Statistical Agent Association (SAA) Reporting National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) Reporting Independent Bureau Submissions Excess & Surplus (E&S) Lines Reporting
Direct the development of new reports, dashboards, and analytical queries utilizing internal and external data sources.
Support actuarial pricing, reserving, underwriting, claims, financial analysis, and strategic business initiatives through advanced analytics and reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, enhance data accessibility, and automate manual processes where business value and return on investment justify implementation.
Partner with Data, Data Operations, and Technology teams to design and implement automated reporting solutions.
Promote best practices in data governance, reporting standards, and analytical methods.
Serve as the Actuarial department's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for statistical reporting and data requirements.
Lead the definition, documentation, and validation of business requirements for new system implementations, enhancements, and break-fix initiatives.
Partner with Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders to ensure proper design and implementation of reporting solutions.
Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities related to policy and claims administration systems and regulatory reporting functions.
Support enterprise initiatives involving platforms such as: Guidewire Solartis Internally developed policy administration systems Claims management systems Ensure reporting requirements are incorporated throughout system development and deployment lifecycles.
Represent MSIG USA in interactions with regulators, statistical agents, bureaus, and industry organizations regarding statistical reporting matters.
Address reporting inquiries, issue resolution, and compliance reviews as needed.
Monitor regulatory developments and emerging reporting requirements impacting the organization.
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of statistical reporting and data analytics professionals.
Coordinate activities across onshore and offshore teams to ensure workload optimization and successful project execution.
Supervise vendor relationships and oversee deliverables from external service providers.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, actuarial, statistical reporting, analytics, or regulatory reporting functions.
3+ years of people leadership experience managing analytical, reporting, or actuarial-related teams.
Experience working with regulatory reporting vendors and insurance bureaus.
Strong understanding of commercial insurance operations, policy administration systems, and claims systems.
Knowledge of insurance statistical reporting requirements and bureau submissions, including ISO, NCCI, SAA, Independent Bureaus, and E&S reporting.
Experience with Guidewire, Solartis, or similar policy administration platforms.
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities utilizing large data sets.
Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools.
Understanding of data governance, data quality, and reporting controls.
The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year. This is a good‑faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, MSIG USA will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job‑related factors.
