Job summary

NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets seeks a Maintenance Department Worker (Temporary) to perform manual tasks at the New York State Fairgrounds. Responsibilities include groundskeeping, custodial duties, and assisting with parking services. Pay Rate: $17.35 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform manual tasks around the fairgrounds to support State Fair operations from May to September 2026.
• Carry out light, medium, or heavy physical labor related to maintenance, groundskeeping, and custodial duties.
• Assist with parking services and general labor duties as needed.
• Operate motor vehicles and equipment when required, holding a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type.

Minimum Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform work involving light, medium, or heavy physical labor.
• Capacity to follow written or oral instructions.
• Valid New York State driver’s license if operating motor vehicles.
• No formal education or experience prerequisites.
