Job summary

SC Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee statewide construction projects, from planning through closeout. The role includes contract administration, budgeting, inspections, and field supervision across multiple facilities in South Carolina.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and five years of construction-related PM experience; travel and field supervision are common. A comprehensive benefits package is provided for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and relevant project management experience in construction-related fields.
• Five years of relevant construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides construction contract administration support to SCDVA maintenance and construction projects in a variety of statewide buildings using OSE documents and State procurement rules.
• Manages initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout phases of the project lifecycle; defines scope, provides estimates, and coordinates work with internal and external teams.
• Develops work plans; controls budget, scope of work, and schedule to ensure design-compliant deliverables.
• Prepares status reports and updates project stakeholders; coordinates changes with sponsors, team, and stakeholders.
• Plans and conducts periodic quarterly facility maintenance inspections of State Veterans' Nursing Homes and State Veteran Cemeteries.
• Maintains and conducts a comprehensive inventory of SCDVA-owned assets across seven nursing homes and one cemetery.
• Prepares construction project budget estimates based on equipment, material, and personnel needs.
• Other duties as assigned to meet the mission of the SC Department of Veterans' Affairs.
