Job summary

Askari Defense, Inc. is seeking a State Estimation and Navigation Engineer to own the estimation stack end-to-end for interceptor systems. You’ll drive architecture, observability analysis, and flight-proven implementations in close partnership with GNC and autonomy leads.

You will tackle GPS-denied navigation, multimodal sensor fusion, and real-time estimation under low-SWaP constraints, validating estimators against SITL/HITL and flight data to ensure mission-critical performance.

Qualifications

• MS degree in a related engineering field with estimation focus.
• Hands-on Kalman-class estimators with theory and practice.
• Experience developing state estimation for mobile or field robotics.
• Proven validation of estimators with flight or experimental truth data.
• Strong C++ on-vehicle implementation and Python for analysis.
• Willingness to travel to support flight testing events.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of the navigation and estimation stack.
• Collaborate with GNC and autonomy leads to shape estimation solutions.
• Ensure estimator performance in GPS-denied and high-dynamic regimes.
• Fuse inertial, GNSS, vision, and seeker/target sensors in real time.
• Validate estimators against SITL/HITL and flight data.
