Job summary

The Department of General Services (DGS) is hiring a licensed Electrical Engineer to serve as a State Review Electrical Engineer in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves reviewing building plans and ensuring compliance with building codes, particularly the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) and the Construction & Professional Services Manual (CPSM).

You will also create detailed reports, assist with inspections, and provide guidance to agencies and design teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia or able to be licensed within one year.
• Experience with building codes and construction standards.
• Ability to prepare and present reports and analyses.

Responsibilities

• Review plans for compliance to the VUSBC and CPSM.
• Create technical reports and recommendations.
• Consult with DEB reviewers for code applications.
• Participate in building inspections.
• Provide technical assistance to A/E designers.
