Job summary

Best Buddies International in Minnesota seeks a State Director to lead statewide operations, secure funding for programs, and ensure statewide program consistency. You will oversee day-to-day activities, supervise staff, manage local Advisory Boards, and coordinate with HQ Programs Team to advance Best Buddies initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (or 4+ years relevant experience), 4–7 years fundraising and donor development, 3–5 years management experience, excellent writing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years’ relevant experience
• 4–7 years fundraising experience with donor base growth
• 3–5 years management/supervisory experience
• Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online databases
• Strong program development and leadership abilities
• Willing to travel and adapt management style as needed

Responsibilities

• Oversees and ensures success of statewide program operations
• Plans and implements statewide fundraising and events
• Manages local Advisory Boards and reports to senior leadership
• Develops statewide funding strategies with staff and volunteers
• Oversees recruitment, training, and staff performance
• Maintains budget and donor relations, grants reporting
• Represents Best Buddies in the community and with partners
