Job summary

Best Buddies International is seeking a State Director to lead statewide programs and funds across Minnesota, overseeing operations, staff, and advisory boards. This role drives fundraising strategy, donor relations, and major events to support IDD initiatives and inclusive employment opportunities.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in fundraising and strong leadership, writing, and project management skills, with willingness to travel and work outside standard hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years relevant experience.
• 4–7 years fundraising with donor base expansion, grants, events, and board management.
• 3–5 years of management/supervisory experience with team-building skills.
• Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills to articulate the mission and activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with online database systems.
• Excellent project management, planning, analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
• High initiative, drive for results, and ability to lead individuals and teams.
• Comfort engaging with people with IDD and willingness to travel evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversees statewide program operations and staff.
• Develops and implements statewide fundraising and awareness strategies.
• Manages local and statewide Advisory Boards and donor relations.
• Plans statewide events and leadership training initiatives.
• Ensures program goals align with grant requirements and budgets.
