Job summary

Best Buddies International is seeking an Area Director in Austin, TX to lead local fundraising and operations. This role oversees day-to-day activities, builds donor relationships, and guides program staff to ensure consistency and success.

You will manage local Advisory Boards, collaborate with the State Director, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The position requires strong fundraising experience, excellent coordination, and a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Concrete experience in fundraising, including expanding donor base through cultivation and stewardship, grant writing, event planning/implementation, and/or board management.
• Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years relevant experience.
• Access to an automobile with applicable insurance.
• Some travel required to National Conferences.

Responsibilities

• Secure funding for programs and special projects.
• Manage and oversee two key Special Events.
• Collaborate with State Director to develop and implement a comprehensive local strategy for securing sustainable funding and work with local staff, Advisory Boards, and volunteers on its implementation.
• Develop and implement major fundraising events to meet revenue goals with local event committees while following Best Buddies event benchmarks/structure.
• Develop and implement an annual area plan in the local office.
• Ensure participants and staff are integrated into regional fundraising/awareness efforts.
• Create brand awareness for Best Buddies.
