Job summary

St. John’s Community Services in the DMV region seeks an executive to plan, develop and direct services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring fidelity to our mission and CARF standards.

As the primary SJCS representative in the DMV, you will build partnerships with government funders, donors and partners while leading budget, staffing and program development to grow impact and net margins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation or related human services field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years direct experience with individuals with intellectual or other disabilities.
• Minimum 5 years administrative experience including staff supervision, budget, and program development.
• Must meet SJCS and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background/records check.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff adherence to SJCS mission and standards.
• Oversee DMV programs, operations, and fiscal outcomes.
• Provide state-level leadership for operations/activities.
• Maintain CARF accreditation and quality assurance practices.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate staff.
• Develop annual budgets and monitor finances.
• Cultivate internal and external relationships with funders and partners.
• Meet with QA team and managers regularly.
• Supervise and coach staff; set goals and monitor performance.
• Provide advocacy at various levels; oversee wellness and program activities.
• Maintain knowledge of state operations; liaison to Board of Directors.
