Job summary

La Mesa-Spring Valley School District is seeking an ESS Program Aide to join the Extended Student Services team for the upcoming school year. The role supports after-school and before-school activities, assists with lesson-based tasks, and helps maintain a safe, engaging environment for students.

The ideal candidate has childcare experience and demonstrates professional, caring behavior, with the ability to work with a diverse student population and coordinate activities under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience: Fifty (50) hours of experience working with children.
• Education: High School education (High School Diploma preferred).
• Possess an Associate's Degree or higher (submit copy of degree with application) or 48 college units and transcripts; or pass ESSA exam per district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists students individually or in small groups with lessons and activities to reinforce concepts.
• Supports ESS Site Lead and coordinates activities to provide a safe, engaging environment.
• Assists with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and crafts.
• Transports or transfers children as needed and ensures safety during sign-in and pick-up.
