Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Recovery Operations Engineer for Starship Range Ops. You will manage recovery range operations, lead offshore recovery teams, and develop procedures ensuring safe, efficient vehicle retrieval during Starship missions.

You will troubleshoot and upgrade marine and land-based recovery hardware, interface with regulatory bodies, and advocate continuous improvement across the recovery program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent would be required.
• Experience reading drawings, data reports and schematics relevant to recovery hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in demanding offshore environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering duties for Starship Range and Recovery efforts.
• Lead engineers/technicians in offshore recovery operations.
• Troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain mechanical/electrical systems on offshore assets.
• Provide on-console engineering support during launches and tests.
• Develop work instructions for ongoing operations, maintenance, and vendor contracts.
• Coordinate with FAA/USCG and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Ensure safety as the final authority and drive process improvements.
• Utilize AI tools to improve program efficiency and recovery operations.
