Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Production Operations Engineer to lead functional checkouts and hazardous testing of Starship/Super Heavy vehicles. You will define pass/fail criteria, develop first-article procedures, and troubleshoot in real time with engineering and technician teams in the field, ensuring safety and readiness.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 2+ years in fluid systems, with hands-on build experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
• 2+ years of experience with fluid systems and test environments.
• Familiarity with electrical and fluid schematics; experience in systems engineering.
• Hands-on build experience and ability to troubleshoot real-time issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team in field/test environments.

Responsibilities

• Directly support functional checkouts of Starship/Superheavy vehicles.
• Establish test criteria and pass/fail requirements for integrated vehicle checkouts.
• Improve testing efficiency and safety of vehicle testing.
• Lead hazardous testing operations to validate vehicle build and ensure propellant and electrical systems meet design intent.
• Perform pressurized checkouts and electrical/sensor checkouts via control console.
• Develop procedures for first-article validation and feedback loops to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues in real-time and coordinate with owners to prevent repeats.
• Interface with engineering and technicians in the field to deepen understanding of vehicle construction.
• Develop deep understanding of avionics/propulsion architecture.
