Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Build Reliability Engineer (STARSHIP) to join a cross-disciplinary team on global manufacturing procedures. You will drive quality through process design, tooling, documentation, and data visualization while collaborating across engineering disciplines and production lines to scale reliability on aerospace components.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (mechanical, aerospace, materials, manufacturing, electrical engineering or engineering physics).
1+ years in manufacturing, quality, or design engineering (student projects/internships count).

Responsibilities

Develop manufacturing, integration, assembly, welding, NDE, cleanliness, and checkouts processes from the ground up and enforce consistency across centers.
Design and implement tooling for testing, fixtures, lifting & rigging, and fluids.
Define and document inspection requirements and procedures.
Create training for production and inspection processes.
Author planning, test plans, and training to execute processes and collect data for quality at scale.
Contain non-conforming hardware with teams to fix systemic issues and manage fleet risk.
Collaborate with design teams to improve DFM and adjust requirements for production rate.
