Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manager, Starshield Supply Chain in Hawthorne, CA, to lead a team of sourcing professionals responsible for ensuring uninterrupted hardware supply for Starshield programs. You will shape vision, negotiate contracts, and drive supplier development while partnering with engineering and production teams.

You will manage supplier evaluations, risk analyses, and performance metrics, and you will travel to supplier facilities as needed to secure capacity and quality for next-gen

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in purchasing, production planning, operations or supply chain management, or engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a management role with direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of sourcing specialists, sourcing managers, and/or global supply managers to ensure continuity of supply for all hardware within the scope of ownership.
• Drive improvement, standardization, and scalability of operational planning, workflow, tools, and resources.
• Assess employee performance, provide feedback, and address issues with corrective actions or performance improvement plans.
• Own vision and strategy for assigned categories through NPI and production phases, including cost management and supplier development.
• Visit supplier facilities to assess capability, financial health, and capacity for supplier contracts.
• Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis including risk assessment and market position.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and evaluate performance.
• Present value propositions to SpaceX executives related to contracts, cost reviews, and critical supply issues.
• Provide guidance to internal customers on design for manufacturability and trade analysis for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Ensure partners are prepared to support prototype builds with equipment and materials.
• Negotiate long-term contracts to ensure continuity of supply and protect SpaceX interests.
