Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Product Security Engineer for Starlink to influence the security of software across product lines. You will design cryptographic services and security features for Starlink systems, while collaborating with multiple teams to strengthen security posture.

The role requires experience in security software development, cryptography, and network/OS security. Candidates should thrive in complex, inter-disciplinary environments and be prepared for extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline with 5+ years in security software development, or 7+ years without a degree.
• Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, C++, Golang).
• Experience designing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this.
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
• Advance our mission of providing secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities.
