Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer, Design Engineering (Starlink) to build scalable web apps and backend services powering Starlink UX. You will work on highly available systems in a Kubernetes-based microservice architecture and deliver high-quality front-end code in React/TypeScript.

You will collaborate across teams to improve architecture, performance, and observability while supporting 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or STEM with 1+ years of full-stack experience, or 3+ years of full-stack work without degree.
• Experience developing web and backend software in a distributed system.
• Strong knowledge of modern web tech and software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop well-architected, responsive, and high-performance web applications
• Build reliable software systems for Starlink in a Kubernetes environment
• Design fault-tolerant networks that run long with minimal maintenance
• Deliver expert-level TypeScript React code for modern browsers
• Full stack development in a .NET micro-service architecture
• Emphasize monitoring and alerting to drive data-driven decisions
• Collaborate with internal partners to drive business outcomes
• Coordinate with other Starlink teams on architecture and code reviews
• Deep-dive into user problems to craft efficient solutions
• Contribute voice in architecture and design discussions
