Job summary

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, NV is hiring a Starbucks Shift Lead to manage shifts and partner with a team of baristas. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional customer experience, supervising staff, and upholding Starbucks standards in a busy venue environment.

You will lead opening/closing procedures, assist in inventory, and participate in events and promotions to drive engagement and sales while maintaining reliable attendance and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three or more years of customer service experience; preferably in retail or food & beverage.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and mentor team members.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, with the ability to ensure compliance.
• Experience in handling monetary transactions and basic accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts while overseeing store operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Assign duties to team members based on operational needs, ensuring an even distribution of workload.
• Support new hire team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed and ensuring ongoing development for all team members.
• Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to team members on shift to ensure operational excellence and adherence to policies.
• Develop and promote a positive and supportive team atmosphere by encouraging collaboration, open communication, and mutual support.
• Partner with Store Manager and Human Resources as appropriate to address personnel matters.
• Create a welcoming third-place environment for every customer, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
• Delivers world-class customer service to all customers by acting with a customer-comes-first attitude.
• Anticipate customer needs by constantly evaluating the store environment and interpreting customer cues, ensuring an exceptional and personalized experience.
