Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Responsibilities include:

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company and store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards, and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions following company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products they ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Use all equipment in the coffee shop according to guidelines, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment such as espresso machines, blenders, scales, and steamers.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities to management.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments, manage conflict non-confrontationally, and act with honesty and integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary Range: $16.91 - $24.15
