Job Description
Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Responsibilities
- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; conduct transactions following company best practices.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products they ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
- Use all coffee shop equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
- Properly use kitchen equipment including espresso machines, blenders, scales, and steamers.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions; notify management of safety risks and issues, including accidents, theft, or fraud.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
- Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Excellent customer service skills.
- Desired: Previous comparable experience.
