Job summary

Food City in East Ridge, TN is hiring a Starbucks Barista to create the Starbucks experience for shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and keeping a clean, welcoming store.

You will take orders, prepare drinks, handle POS transactions, learn a wide variety of coffee and tea offerings, and work on-site with a friendly team to Run the Best Store in Town.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Food Service/Coffee experience a plus, but not required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Learn how to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products.
• Learn the ingredients that go into various products.
• Work with various Starbucks ingredients including various coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt service to Food City shoppers and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
• Take customer orders and ensure timely completion to satisfaction.
• Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products while ensuring quality and safety.
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers and associates.
• Engage with customers, offer product information, and sample products.
• Process cash register transactions using POS system.
• Maintain consistency in quality beverages, whole bean, and food items per recipes and presentation standards.
• Promote Food City and Starbucks culture, values, and mission.
• Operate and use tools and equipment following safety procedures.
• Follow the company food safety program and procedures.
• Attend on-site work according to scheduled shifts.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!”
• Take customer orders, ensure orders are completed in a timely manner, and to the customers’ satisfaction
• Prepare, bagging, pouring, and stocking Starbucks products, rotating items to ensure product quality and safety.
• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow associates.
• Engage with customer, offering product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products.
• Process cash register transactions using POS system.
• Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, values, and the mission of both Food City and Starbucks.
• Consistently operate and tools and equipment, following all routine and safety procedures.
• Follow company food safety program and food-handling procedures.
