Starbucks Barista
Ability to operate related equipment such as cappuccino machines, coffee grinders, coffee brewers, blenders, and convection ovens.
Responsible for opening and closing duties.
Demonstrates cash register operation and money handling procedures.
Prepares hot and cold food items for retail sale.
Sets up for café sales by stocking food and paper products.
Knowledgeable of and adheres to food safety codes and standards set by federal, state, local, and accreditation agencies.
Checks food temperatures throughout the shift, documents temperatures, and notifies supervisors of any out-of-compliance issues.
Monitors temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating units, documents readings, and reports issues.
Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of refrigeration units, complying with food safety regulations.
Requisitions and transports food and supplies to replenish inventory.
Inspects items for integrity, rotates stock, and disposes of outdated or substandard products.
Properly wraps, labels, and dates food items.
Prepares coffee, juice, and smoothies; maintains and cleans beverage machines and areas.
Maintains cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils, following sanitation standards.
Displays signage daily.
Follows proper cleaning procedures, stores chemicals safely, labels products, and uses PPE as required.
Practices safety procedures, reports hazards, and maintains equipment.
Provides excellent customer service and contributes to performance improvement.
Uses recipes and ingredients to prepare and process foods.
Assists in other areas as needed.
Must pass barista training within 2 months of hire.
High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to perform calculations and communicate effectively.
Ability to read and write.
Experience in restaurant or food service preferred.
